NOMAD – EU consortium for smart dental implants

Glantreo in NOMAD; Innovation for smart dental implants

Glantreo is pleased to announce they are  a key partner in the NOMAD consortium. This EU-funded research and innovation collaborative project is aimed at developing the next generation of dental implants that can prevent peri-implant diseases. Scientists and dental specialists from 10 organizations in 7 European countries have joined forces to tackle the increasing socio-economic burden associated with these diseases.

NOMAD - Creating Smart Dental Solutions

We are excited to partner with world-class companies and research groups  working on smart materials to innovate in the implants space. At present, out of patients receiving dental implants, 43% develop peri-implant mucositis and 22% peri-implantitis, diseases that are painful and reduce implant efficacy. By bringing together specialists in biomaterial, nanomaterials, dentistry and microbiology, NOMAD will create the next generation of dental implants.

Glantreo is a leading technology company specialising in advanced materials for chromatography, lateral flow assays, biosensors and innovative drug-delivery nanoparticles. In the NOMAD project, Glantreo’s expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and functionalisation is being utilized to develop smart biomaterials for dental implants.
